Writer's picture: Oshin RexOshin Rex

Deep Brain Stimulation is a procedure in which electrodes are placed in certain areas of the brain in order to inhibit abnormal brain activity. The electrodes send electrical pulses to the brain and are attached to an internal pulse generator which is typically placed under the collarbone. Some of the conditions Deep Brain Stimulation has worked for include Dystonia, Parkinson’s disease, Epilepsy, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and Essential Tremor.
